General
- CARHA Rules & Regulations are in effect (including goal masks and helmets).
- There will be no red line for purposes of offside or icing the puck.
- High sticking the puck is a minor penalty ( puck played above the height of players shoulders)
- No Slap Shots allowed. The stick must not come above the knee for this rule. Play blown dead and face off occurs in offending team's end zone. Penalty to be called if action continues on a frequent basis.
- Any player receiving three minor penalties will be ejected from the game
- Any player (or coach) who is assessed a major penalty will be ejected from the tournament
Game Format
- Warmup: 3-minutes for all games
- Regulation Time: Two (2) 15-minute, stop time periods for all games
- Overtime:
- Round Robin Games: One (1) 5-minute, 3-on-3, sudden victory period
- Championship Games: Unlimited 10-minute, 3-on-3, sudden victory periods
- Shootout:
- Round Robin Games: best-of-three shooters, followed by single shooters if necessary
- Championship Games: No shootout
- Points (Round Robin Games):
- 3 points for regulation win
- 2 points for an overtime/shootout win
- 1 point for an overtime/shootout loss
- Mercy Rule: Games will go to running time if there is a five (5) or more goal differential with 10 minutes remaining in regulation time. There will be no reverting back to stop time for the balance of the regulation game.
- Note: All games will have an outright winner.
Standings Calculation (Round Robin)
Teams will be sorted using the following:
- Most Points; then if tied,
- Most Wins; then,
- Head-To-Head (if all tied teams played each other); then,
- Highest Goal Differential (GF%) - Goals For / (Goals For + Goals Against); then,
- Least Goals Against; then,
- Most Goals For; then,
- Coin Flip / Random Draw
Player Eligibility
- Players MUST be registered and play with one team only during the tournament.
- To be eligible to participate in the tournament, players MUST be in the 35th year and, registered with their team prior to the commencement of the tournament.
- To be eligible for any division final, a player must participate in a minimum of two (2) preliminary round games.
